Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 11) - There has recently been a lot of speculation in the media that Dongfeng Infiniti will relocate its headquarters to Wuhan, the provincial capital of Hubei, while its current Beijing headquarters will be demoted. However, Infiniti has officially denied these allegations in a report appearing on the China Economic Net today.

At this year’s Global Automotive Forum in Chongqing, Dongfeng Infiniti President Daniel Kirchert stated that work on Infiniti’s projects in the country are progressing smoothly. Dr. Kirchert is very optimistic in the future of the Chinese premium automotive market, predicting it to maintain sales growth of around 10% through the next five to ten years. Dr. Kirchert stressed that Dongfeng and Infiniti share the same global aims. He added that he is very impressed by his team, which consists of new entries from Dongfeng and original members from Infiniti China.

According to an internal memo, although Dongfeng Infiniti is registered in Wuhan, its key departments and staff will continue to be based in Beijing. Dongfeng Infiniti, the successor to Infiniti China, still has a lot of work to do, including conducting new marketing campaigns, increasing market share and expanding its dealer network. However Dr. Kirchert stressed that Dongfeng Infiniti’s most important goal is to maintain healthy and positive growth.

To accomplish this goal, Dr. Kirchert explained that combining the sales and service networks for both domestic and imported automobiles is very important. He added that Dongfeng and Infiniti’s leaders are very optimistic in the success of the brand.

Thanks to large backing from its shareholders, Dongfeng Infiniti has managed to achieve remarkable growth since its foundation. The joint venture has made considerable strides in sales, production and branding work. Retail sales of Infiniti vehicles from January to April totaled 11,651 units, representing year-on-year growth of 32%, far above the industry average.
