Mercedes-Benz achieves rapid sales growth over 2015 H1

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 11) - Mercedes-Benz has been making inroads on primary competitors Audi and BMW. According to a report appearing in the Beijing Morning Post today, the manufacturer sold 30,000 vehicles in China in the month of June, marking the 28th consecutive month of continuous sales growth. Mercedes-Benz’s total sales in the China market over the first half of the year have exceeded 160,000 vehicles. That figure represents solid year-on-year growth of 23%, a rate higher than either Audi or BMW was able to post during the same time frame.

Commenting on Mercedes-Benz’s performance, Beijing Benz President and CEO Nicolas Speeks stated: “We are very satisfied in the development of the Mercedes-Benz brand in China. However, we also know that there is still a long road ahead. Mercedes-Benz will continue to introduce exciting new products to capture the interests of new and current customers alike. The all-new C-Class (pictured), GLA SUV , Maybach S-Class and other models have all received exceptional levels of praise.”

Mr. Speeks went on to comment on the company’s attitude towards the market: “We believe that our major achievement has been our ability to keep our commitment towards our customers by providing them with clearly priced services. By creating a positive environment for our customers and dealer partners, we have been able to bolster customers’ confidence in the brand. We are working hard to let everyone know that Mercedes-Benz is a truly progressive brand.”

While leader Audi has not been able to post the impressive sales growth rates that Mercedes-Benz has, they have still managed to increase their sales from last year. Analysts believe that Mercedes-Benz will continue to catch up with Audi and BMW, with the luxury automotive market in China expected to be divided between the three manufacturers.
