FAW recalls 280,000 Mazda 6 over defective airbag in China
Gasgoo.com(Shanghai Sept 28) – Chinese car manufacture FAW decides to recall 279,266 vehicles for its defective airbag since September 25th .
According to the files FAW presented to AQSIQ, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantineof People’s Republic of China, the affected vehicles under this recall campaign are Mazda 6 manufactured domestically from March 29th,2003 to December 29th,2008.
The air inflator in the affected vehicles, which is a part of the supplier’s defective airbag, may explode in a crash and spray vehicle occupants with shards, and dangerously leading to fatality. To eliminate this risk, FAW will provide inflator replacement for the affected Mazda vehicles for free.
