China’s domestic carmaker Fengshen will lower sales target and achieve profit and loss balance in 2017
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Oct 23)– Since this April, the sales of passenger vehicle in China has been on a successive decrease. Dongfeng Fengshen sold 72,618 units for the first 3 quarters of 2015, making it kind of difficult to keep up with the original 120,000-unit sales goal for the whole year. Fengshen has decided to lower the company’s sales target by 20,000 units, to 100,000 units by the end of this year, confessed Wei Li, sales director at Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Company.
Actually, Fengshen has scored a quite impressing 35.6% increase compared with last year, which is way above the average increase among other passenger vehicle manufacturers in China’s auto market. Jiang Jing, industry analyst, believed this carmaker’s intensive model debuts for the recent years, such as S30、L60、A60、AX7, have contributed to its sales records.
According to Fengshen’s Thirteenth Five-Year Plan, this carmaker will speed up the pace to debut more models while slow down in setting up new car dealers. ”Fengshen will hit a 200,000-unit sales goal in 2017 and finally achieve profit and loss balance.” said Chunrong Li, General Manager at Dongfeng Fengshen.
According to Meiling Liu, Vice Marketing Director at Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Company, Fengshen will keep focus on both Sedan and SUV models in the future and spare no effort to build itself as an active domestic carmaker.
