Tesla’s charging grid in North and Northeast China completed

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Nov 11)– On November 11th, Tesla Motors announced the completion of its EV-charging grid in North and Northeast China, which could largely tackle the charging demands of tesla owner in these area.

To be noted, the main compositions of Tesla’s new grid are “destination-oriented” charging facilities, which mean the company has mainly deployed their facilities near “destinations” such as shopping malls, office buildings, banks and hotels in some major cities of this area, such as Qinhuangdao, Changchun and Shenyang. In this mode, Tesla will provide facilities and the local parties will take care of this facilities afterwards.

According to the carmaker, Tesla’s charging facilities now includes private charging piles, portable charger, public charging piles and “destination-oriented” piles.

This June, Tesla has announced their achievement in China’s grid construction and also future plans for 2015. Besides the grid in North and Northeast China, this carmaker will build 6 more grids in other area of China, including the North and Central China.

Actually, the insufficient charging facility and millage anxiety has been dragging the development of the pure electrical vehicles for a long time. Analyst said, Tesla has only sold 3,025 units for the first 3 quarters of 2015 in China, which was not pretty at all and far below the company’s goals. It’ believed Tesla has been aggressively set up charging grids to increase sales.
