Chery got listed in best-selling model ranking in Russia

Chinese self-brand automaker was listed for the first time in the official sales figures of new foreign cars in Russia in the first quarter of 2007. The new entrant in the ranking was Chery, which snatched 12th place with a volume of 6,656 units, and its growth rate of 1108% was also the highest among all the players in this market.

The news was reported by many auto media in Russia. Chinese Chery with its highest growth rate is offering one more choice for Russia auto consumers.

A dealer was reported to have said that price marketing strategy of the Chinese manufactures may contribute to this success, whose 1.6-L Chery auto sells only at 9,000 dollars.

Chery built its self-funded subsidiary in Russia on October, 2005. The company also signed another cooperative agreement with Avtotor Company of Russia to assemble Chery autos at Russia and series production has already begun. Chery is on the course to become a popular brand among Russia car fans.
