"China-developed autos accounted 57% of total sales through self-development, commissioned design and joint development in recent years." Vice president and secretary general of the China Automobile Industry Association Jiang Lei said.

Jiang Lei said, China brands maintain a dominant position in the field of commercial vehicles with a market share above 95% for three consecutive years. Sedan brands have reached nearly 26% domestic market shares.

According Automobile Association statistics, in 2006 China developed auto sales surged to 982,800 vehicles, accounting for 25.67% of total car sales. From the perspective of "HQ3", "Kingkong" and "Roewe"  models listed in 2006, we can see that self brands are developing from low-end to high-class generally.
