Delphi technology center moves to China

Info from the website of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce showed that China will boost parts exports from 11 billion U.S. dollars to 120 billion U.S. dollars within 10 years, that means China's export of auto parts will account for 10% of global market share.

It is said that the Delphi is making efforts to enhance its local R & D capability to ensure the production quality in Chinese market.

"At present, Delphi's total investment in China reached more than 500 million U.S. dollars, Quan Chunze, Delphi President of Asia Pacific said, Delphi has 14 wholly-owned enterprises and 19 joint ventures across nine countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Delphi set up 17 economic entities in China, including an investment company, a technology research and development centers, a technical service center, a trading company and 13 joint ventures and wholly foreign-owned enterprises.

In 2006, Delphi revenue growth increased 47% in the Asia-Pacific region, compared to the previous year, and achieved sales volume of 1.92 billion U.S. dollars. New orders of capital amount reached 5.4 billion U.S. dollars, exceeding 59% than expected growth target for the same period.
