Mercedes-benz (China) sales maintained stable in Q1

The Mercedes Group delivered 6,800 Mercedes cars in mainland China and Hong Kong in the first quarter of 2007, up 16% year-on-year. S-series sales in mainland China and Hong Kong were 3,000 units, of which sales in the mainland surged by 42%. Mercedes-Benz brand SUVs has furnished its production line in China till now, becoming the first SUV brand possessing full range of SUV product in China.

Deliveries of Mercedes-Benz for the first quarter increased three percent to the record level of 274,400 passenger vehicles. Sales of the brand in Asia-Pacific Region increased by 4% year-on-year on record to34,200 units in the first quarter while the brand sold 6,800 units in mainland China and Hong Kong in the first quarter, up 16 per cent from 2006. S-series contributed much to this growth with 42% sales increase in the mainland and 3,000 sold in Hongkong. China has always been the second largest market for Mercedes-benz S-series model.
