Domestic market is full of expectation

New models have always been eye-candy. At Shanghai Auto Show 2007, many manufacturers debuted brand-new models, and most of them will be China-made, including the third-generation Ford Mondeo, the new Dodge Caravan, Chrysler Sebring, Mazda 2, Mazda 5 and Shanghai Volkswagen CrossPolo.

3rd Gen Ford Mondeo

3rd Gen Ford Mondeo embodies the traditional Ford Mondeo vitality imbued in the car body, introducing of new technologies; its driving performance and security have further improved significantly. Sources from Changan Group said the third generation Mondeo is expected to be China made in the second half of this year in Chongqing Changan Ford Mazda factory.

Before Mazda 2, the third-generation Mondeo will be launched in the domestic market at the end of this year. It is said that Chongqing Changan Ford Mazda factory will stop the second-generation Mondeo production once the third generation production started. That means, Mondeo series will have a comprehensive upgrade.

This is a brand new generation Mondeo debut in China, the V6 engine is its hit feature and made other four more improvements. Sources said, the new generation Mondeo will be powered by the current S-MAX 2.3L engine. While in Europe, the new generation Mondeo's dynamic configuration includes five engines, two new gasoline engines, as well as two new diesel engines, and the original 2.5L V6.
