The importer for Chery in Malaysia, Alado Bumi Automobile, has announced that it has launched the Tiggo sports-utility vehicle (SUV). The vehicles will be imported into the country as completely built-up (CBU) units. The head of sales for the importing company, James Wong, said that he expects around 500 of these vehicles to be sold by the end of 2007.

Significance: The vehicle will be the third Chery model to be sold by the importer in Malaysia, following the release of the A160 and the QQ model in July 2006. The importer expects sales of the QQ to reach 1,000 units during the year, following the 200 that have been sold since its introduction.
