New Corolla ZR engine went into production at Tianjin

The ZR engine has gone into the production line at Plant No. 2 of Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. (TFTM). Matching the EU emission standards, the engines will be used in the new Corolla to be produced at TFTE next month.

TFTE is one of the major parts suppliers for FAW Group, and its newly launched Plant No. 2 has an annual production capacity of 220,000 units. The ZR engine features Dual VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing-intelligent), which offers not only superior driving performance but also world-class environmental performance, including excellent fuel efficiency.

The move marks Toyota has put more focus on the Chinese market and Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone is playing an important role in its development strategy in China.
