Mitsubishi was reported to hide part defects of 156,400 vehicles
After recalling 200,000 buses and trucks last month, Mitsubishi Motors. Co. fell into another scandal when the head of the company acknowledged that it had been covering up auto part defects of more than 17 models made between 1992 -1997, including Pajero and the like, with a total number of 156,400 units, of which 7,300 units have already been exported overseas.
In 2004 the company revealed it had failed to divulge all its problems in 2000 and had more concealed defects. This January it also took back 56,000 trucks after a wheel fell off one of its heavy-duty models. As to how many Beijing consumers are involved in this case, it is uncertain, the Mitsubishi China office can not be reached for comment.
