Renault confirmed that the company has no plan to make vehicles locally in China in the future and will continue to import vehicles instead.

Renault Asia-Pacific area chief Thierry Koskas told reporters that Renault will put more focus on India and Iran where it has current projects going on quite well with predicted sales of 600,000 units by 2009.

Thierry Koskas also denied the possibility to cooperate with OEM suppliers in China.

Renault has no production in China and very limited sales, which estimated 4,000 units in 2007 against 3,000 in 2006, added Koskas.
