Bosch to invest 170 mln euros in China auto safety tech industry

Bosch will invest about 100 million Yuan in Inner Mongolia's Yakeshi to build a winter testing field. Upon completion in 2008, it will be the largest winter testing field in China with advanced technology and equipment. This project will enhance Bosch's local engineering capabilities, and help Bosch to develop most advanced technology Chinese customers.

Bosch Group is the world's leading manufacturer in automotive technology, industrial technology, consumer goods and building intelligent technology. Bosch Group opened its first trade office In Shanghai, China in 1909; in 1926 the group opened its first automobile after-sales service workshop. Today, the all operational departments of group have set up offices in China: automotive technology dept, industrial technology dept, consumer goods dept and building intelligent technology dept. Bosch in China sales reached to 1.3 billion Euros in 2006. By the end of 2005, it had invested a total of about 620 million Euros in China.

By 2007, Bosch investment in China in automotive safety exceed 1.7 billion Euros, including 1.1 billion Euros invested in Suzhou production, research, development laboratory and a testing facility center as well as the latest Suzhou road test with 2 million Euros investment, and 50 million Euros investments in the automotive technology Pacific Group. The group has a factory in Dalian, northeast of China, with its headquarters located in Australia; Bosch thus became the company's shareholder through acquisitions.
