Foton to launch one sedan per year

Foton Auto unveiled their plans to launch at least one new sedan per year in the coming three to four years. The company has recently launched its first MPV, called MP-X Mengpaike, in Guangzhou and Shanghai.

Equipped with a third generation MPV chassis from Foton Auto Company, the new model adopts stabilizers that have been rectified by LOCUS Co., Ltd and feature world-class quality and high safety.

Sources from Foton say that the company aims to sell 1 million vehicles, 20% of those sales to be passenger cars. To achieve this target, Foton may need to roll out its self-developed sedan within this year. With a strong focus on technology improvement, Foton will develop models with emissions below 2.0L range, hoping to compete in the mini vehicle segment with QQ, Alto, etc.
