Ford Motor Co. is considering extending its hybrid vehicles to include plug-in versions, a technology that rivals also are developing. "We're best equipped to evaluate it because of our experience'' with hybrids among U.S. automakers, spokesman Said Deep said in an interview. Ford now builds versions of its Escape and Mariner small sport-utility vehicles powered by a combination of an electric motor and a gasoline engine.燝M, the world's largest automaker, unveiled a plug-in concept car earlier this month at the Detroit auto show. Toyota Motor Corp., second in global auto sales and the biggest seller of hybrids, said last year it may produce plug-in versions.
