Peugeot Citroen CEO Christian Streiff makes plans to speed-up Chinese market strategy

On May 14, Streiff came to China for a deeper understanding of the Chinese auto market. According to Streiff, the plan of new models launching time in China, the number of new factories and production need to be remodeled, with the launch of new models may be ahead of the schedule.

Since taking office in February, Peugeot Citroen Group (PSA) CEO Streiff has been inspecting factories around the world. After careful consideration, he finally announced the Group's renewal plan. Streiff makes the Chinese market plan soon after taking office with DPCA for further cooperation and development. It is said that on April 12, DPCA held the 14th Board meeting in Paris, on which decided Xu, general manager of Dongfeng Motors and PSA Peugeot Citroen Group CEO Streiff as DPCA chairman and vice chairman.

In addition, Peugeot Citroen recently suspended car cooperation with Malaysia Proton Company. It is reported that the PSA plans to make its China's factory as the largest overseas production base.

Tang Teng, vice president of Dongfeng Peugeot said in an interview that as the market needs is urgent, DPCA will accelerate the pace of building the second factory. The original plan of putting a second factory into operation in 2009 will be ahead of the schedule, aiming at to be completed by the end of 2008.
