Heavy trucks sales escalated in the first four months
Sales of heavy trucks with a weight of more than fourteen tons were 53,900 units in April and 159,000 units in the first four months, up 60% y-o-y, which is the fastest increase ever since 2005.
In the first four months, sales of heavy-duty trucks weight more than fourteen tons. The top ten automakers are: FAW Group Corp, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Corp (CNHTC) ranked first and second with 36,607 units and 32,606 units sold, accounting for 22.98% and 20.47% market share respectively, followed by Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFMC)'s 26,794 units, Shanxi Automobile's 20,182 units, Beiqi Foton Motor's 18,584 units, Chongqing Hongyan Motor's 8,088 units, Beijing North Benz's 5,338units, Anhui Jianghuai Automobile (JAC)'s 2,748 units and Anhui Hualing Automobile's 2,666 units.
Of the ten auto enterprises, the following automakers' increase rates are ahead of industry levels: FAW (+62.6%); Shaanxi Automobile (+92%); Beiqi Foton Motor (117%); Beijing North Benz (+90.6%); Anhui Hualing Automobile (+90%), while JAC sales has surged 368% y-o-y.
Analysis shows that sales of the first seven automakers represent 93% of the total, marking a monopolization trend in the Chinese market.
However, auto industry insiders say the fast increase will not persist in the second half year as the Chinese government will resort to macro control measures to fight against a spike in house prices and the high inflation rate in the first six months of this year.
