Chongqing North Benz: 500 mln yuan to build heavy vehicle production base
Chongqing North Benz Motors heavy vehicle production base had laid foundation in Chongqing's Kowloon Industrial Park C on June 6th. The project occupies 505 acres and plans to invest 500 million yuan, its main production aimed at truck and other specialized vehicles.
Chongqing North Benz Motors is a subsidiary of Baotou North-Benz Heavy Vehicle Company, which has professional R & D centers, production base, and "Tiema" heavy vehicles, with an annual output of 3,000 units. According to the report, once the production bases are completed, annual production capacity could boost to 10,000 units, and industrial output value could reach 3 billion yuan; once the second project is completed, annual production capacity would be up to 30,000 units, with an annual output value of 9 billion yuan.
Baotou North-Benz Heavy Motors is a subsidiary of China North Industries Group Corporation. The Group has a joint venture with German Daimler-Benz, currently owns three major production bases in Baotou, Yantai and Chongqing, the production varieties of heavy vehicles are more than 400, vehicle assembly capacity is 30,000 units, products sold as far away as Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Pakistan and other countries and regions.
