Hyundai Coupe to be made in China next year

It is reported that the second factory of Beijing Hyundai has been initially completed and now it is laying the ground surface, installing machines and debugging, the construction of the plant will be done by the end of this year. By then, Hyundai production capacities will boost from 300,000 units to 600,000 units.

It is reported that three new models will be produced next year. According to sources, the two models are modified Elantra and China made Coupe.

It is probably the first foreign convertible to get produced in China. The source said Beijing Hyundai and South Korea headquarters had signed relevant contract and spare parts will be made in China. For the domestic price of the Coupe, that may be slightly less than the current prices of imported automobiles, approximately 170,000 to 200,000 yuan.

Meanwhile, according to sources, Elantra will be produced in the second plant. The source said that Elantra, 2005 sales champion three years ago had become Beijing Hyundai major sales, and its price, the source said, basically is the same with Elantra.
