China sedan sales rose by 25.7% in the first five months y-o-y

Domestic brand sales saw a slight drop of 10.64 percent in May, comparing with the previous month this year, but rose by 23.1% this month from the same month a year ago to 368,000 units, state media said June 8. In the first five months, sedan sales rose 25.7% to 1.9 million units, according to latest report from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

The top ten best sellers in May are Santana, Jetta, Excelle, QQ, Camry, Qiyun, BYD F3, Focus, Accord and Xiali. QQ and Qiyun's increment are the most remarkable all. Total sales of the above ten brand models were 131,700 units, representing 35.79 percent of the total. Home brand sales were 109.500 units, taking 29.77% the total.

The first ten hot selling models brands in the first five months were Santana, Jetta, Excelle, Camry, QQ, Xiali, Familia, Accord, Elantra and Qiyun. Total sales were 636.000 units, accounting for 33.43 percent of the total.

The top ten producers in the first five months were and FAW VW, Shanghai VW, Shanghai GM, Chery Auto, DFL, Guangzhou Honda, Geely Auto, DPCA, FAW Toyota, Tianjin FAW. Sales of these ten auto makers were 1,209,200 units, which is 63.56 percent of the total.
