Germany Continental Group to built car factory in China

Continental Corporation Group will build a new hydraulic braking system plant in Changshu, Jiangsu Province. The factory investment amount is 67 million euros, covering an area of 70,000 square meters. According to the plan, the hydraulic braking system factory will begin mass production in autumn of 2008. By then, hydraulic brake system products including break front axles, rear axles and brake boosters will be produced.

By 2011, around 1,000 people will be employed; 2 million sets of brake boosters and 4.6 million brake calipers will be produced to provide components to auto plants for China, Japan and South Korea.

"By 2010, we hope to double our sales in the Asian market." Continental Group Asian region president said, "the new plant in Changshu will be the main production base for hydraulic braking system products for Continental Group in East Asia."

German Continental Group is a world-renowned supplier, producing braking systems, chassis components, body electronics, tires, rubber and plastics products. In 2006, the Continental group sales reached 14.9 billion euros. The Continental Group Vehicle System Division sales revenue was 6 billion euros.
