BMW 1 Series is expected to be introduced in China

It is reported that the construction of the second Brilliance BMW factory have been approved recently, the new factory will be located in the EU economic zone in Shenyang City, Capital of Liaoning Province.

According to the latest statistics, BMW sales in China has reached 10,100 units in the first quarter of 2007, an increase of 34.2% year on year, while Brilliance BMW has reached maximum production capacity of 30,000 units.

It is said that BMW intends to speed up its pace to produce BMW 3 Series locally, especially with the opening of its second factory in China. Since the beginning of this year, 5234 units of 3 Series has been sold, sales growth has increased by 33.7% compared to the same period last year.

The BMW 320i manual model to be produced in China has been approved by relevant state authorities. However due to insufficient capacity in the first factory, the production for this model has been put on hold.,

Earlier, BMW senior official Stark has disclosed, " Preparation is currently underway to introduce BMW 1 series into the Chinese market,  This model is currently priced at approximately 200,000 yuan."
