FAW's automotive electronics facility in Changchun powers up
Qiming IT Company, a subsidiary of FAW Group, and the Hong Kong Surface Mount Technology Group kickstarted the operation of the automotive electronics facility in Changchun City, Jilin Province on the 28th.
The new automotive electronics facility is located in the software development zone in Changchun City, Jilin Province, with a total investment of approximately 370 million yuan.
The foundation of the facility was laid on June 23 2006 and occupied 13,000 square meters. The base has 15 production lines and 20 electronics assembly lines which will develop mainly the vehicle's information systems, automobile electronic control modules and other automotive electronic products. Once the base is completed, its annual production capacity is expected to reach four million units.
Zu Yanfeng, general manager of FAW Group said: " By aggressively developing the automotive electronics industry, we can improve our automotive technology to provide a safe, energy-saving and environmentally friendly solution."
