Following the introduction of different new models in recent years, Ford (China) will now introduce a new SUV into the Chinese market.

Ford is ready to mass produce this new concept car, known as the iosis-X, which was on displayed at the Shanghai Auto Show this year. According to reports, the iosis-X will share the same platform with Ford-Focus and will be marketed under the name X-MAX in China, to compete with Toyota RAV-4, Honda CR-V in the SUV market.

X-MAX is powered by a 2.5L five-cylinder turbocharged engine. In addition, consumers can also choose between a 1.6L/2.0L gasoline engine and 1.8/2.0L TDCI diesel engine.

The new model is expected to be on sale in China in 2009.
