Buick Excelle transfer production to Shenyang

When the new generation of Buick Excelle produced in 2009, the old version model production will be transferred to Shenyang City, Liaoning Province in northeast China. According to the news from Shanghai Auto, GM's partner in China.

The Group said the new Excelle will be produced on the Delta platform, while the current one is assembled on the Daewoo J100 platform, on which Daewoo Nubile is produced.
 
The Excelle is a popular model made by Shanghai GM, the JV of Shanghai Auto and GM Motors.

The plant in Shenyang City is one of Shanghai GM plants, called Norsom Auto Co. the Buick MPV GL8 is assembled at the plant currently.

According to the Group's plan, the new Excelle's annual production aims at 150,000 to 18,000 units.

Excelle is still a hot selling model of Shanghai GM, the sales in 2006 reached 176,526 units, while in the first half of this year, it had been sold 91,327 units, increased 5% y/y.
