CAAM: Analysis of 2007 H1 SUV market
SUV (sport utility vehicle) sales in China maintained a strong growth in the first half of this year. SUV total sales were 158,000 units, increased 39.03% y/y, of which two-wheel drive SUV were sold 79,400 units, increased 49.64%, four-wheel drive SUV were sold 78,600 units, increased 29.74%.
In the two-wheel drive SUV market, SUV with engines in the range of 1.6L and 2.5L constitute the sales largest share, sold about 65,000 units, about 81.90% of two-wheel drive SUV market. While in the four-wheel drive SUV market, SUV with engines in the range of 1.6L and 2.5L sales reached to 59,800 units, taking 76.05% of four-wheel drive market.
The top five SUV brands are Hover, Tiaggo, Tucson, C-RV and Changfeng Liebao, with sales of 26,300 units, 24,700 units, 20,300 units, 15,800 units and 12,600 units respectively. The five brand sales were 99,700 units, taking 63.1% of total SUV sale in the first half of 2007.
