Daihatsu confidently facing price war

The executive of Daihatsu China expressed that Daihatsu did not worry about the price war against China brands in low-grade market.

He said development strategy of Daihatsu China ran step by step.  We looked for the cooperation in key parts then set joint venture with Jilin FAW to produce auto body initially. Last we would look for complete vehicle program in China.

He also said Daihatsu endeavored to increase the percentage of domestically-made products. This percentage of D-01 should be over 80% so we did not worry about price war against China brands.

"The brand whose share is lower than 3% does nothing. I hope Daihatsu's volume should not be less than 300,000 units if the market in 2010 reaches 10 million units." He added.
