It is reported that new Fiesta will be produced next year in Changan Ford Mazda plant in Nanjing. But the name “Fiesta" will most likely be changed prior to release.

Changan Ford Mazda president Shen Yingquan said the new Fiesta will share the B3 platform with Mazda2, and it will be launched into the market as early as the end of 2008.

This is the fifth generation of Fiesta; the fourth Fiesta was launched into the Chinese market in 2003, and it will be powered by Duratec1.6L engine, with a price of RMB 80,000 yuan.

Due to poor sales (about 30,000 units within 3 years), the older Fiesta's are being pulled from market, and now the Changan Ford Mazda will be given a new name with hopes that this model will bring higher sales.
