China' bus industry is getting more and more polarized
According to recent statistics, the 10 biggest bus manufacturers took seventy-plus percent of the market share during the first half of this year, which indicates the bus manufacturing industry is not only the fastest-growing, but it also is getting more and more polarized.
From Jan. to Jun., passenger bus sales rose 15.12 percent from a year ago to 164,800 units, while production rose 14.72 percent to 167,900 units, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. The increases are in line with the overall growth of China's vehicle industry---auto sales and production jumped by 23.3 percent and 22.4 percent from the previous year.

Sales of light buses accounts for the majority of the sales of the bus industry. This segment is also the fastest-growing compared with the large or mid-size buses.
Petrol and diesel buses have had similar increases in sales during the past six months. Sales of petrol-powered buses reached 75,200 units, 15.08 percent up from the previous year, while the diesel-powered bus sales rose 14.85 percent to 88,200 units,.
