Qiyun represents 40% of Chery export in H1
Chinese carmaker Chery Automobile exports soared to 52,712 vehicles in the first six months of this year from 13,548 in the first half of 2006, an increase of 290 percent, of which Chery Flagcloud (Qiyun in Chinese) account for 40% of the total with 20,058 units export.
Qiyun was also the top-listed model in China in terms of exports, representing 30% of the total auto export volume. The model has got ISO/TS16949 International Quality Approval early in 2002 and was the first Chinese automaker to obtain this approval. At the same year Chery Qiyun passed the ECER9 collision test.
Chery Automobile Company has become a landmark in China's auto industry development since it launched the country's first self-developed car - Chery Qiyun in March 2001. Thanks to independent research and development, Chery has been promoting its own brand of automobiles and has exported the country's first passenger cars overseas.
Currently Chery has become China’s largest exporter with a total of 3,000 cars being exported overseas every month. The company started to export its first batch of Qiyun cars to Syria in 2001 and now has made car sales contracts with auto companies from more than 50 countries worldwide.
