Popular in China, Toyota Camry to beat sales target

Toyota's Camry has been the top-selling sedan in America for months. It has won the hearts of Chinese customers too. Toyota has sold out 94,156 units of Camry in the first seven months of this year. This makes the company’s full-year target of 150,000 units Camrys an easy thing.
 
Camry's July sales are 13,492 units, which makes Camry the best selling sedan for the last eight months.

The model hit the Chinese market last June as a big splash in the mid-to-high-range sedan segment. While almost eight in ten D-segment sedans have cut prices to less than RMB 160,000(USD 21,140. Camry's price tag has little change, whose current line-up is priced between RMB 197,800(USD 26,134)to RMB 269,800 (USD 35,647).

Guangzhou Toyota Motor Co., Ltd, Toyota's Chinese partner, produce the 6th generation of Camry while enhancing its dealership network. After Camry, Guanghzou Toyota will introduce an economic sedan ---Yaris next year, hoping to create another "Camry Miracle".

"We also face big challenges," said Feng Xingya, vice sales manager of Guangzhou Toyota, referring to the incentives made by Honda Accord and newly launched VW Magotan. "But we have confidence that Camry won't fail as it will change with the product lifecycle and our sales channel will get better."
