Shanghai. August30 (Gasgoo.com) – Ford Motor Co may start to produce a Verve-based concept car in China at Changan Ford Mazda within two or three years, according to a local Chinese media in Fujian province.

The Verve concept car, which will be officially unveiled next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show, is to become the basis of a new small vehicle to be sold around the world, said John Fleming, President and CEO of Ford Europe.

"But we will collect and study the public reactions to this car at the show," he added.

The Verve concept car, designed in Europe, will compete in the so-called subconcept vehicle segment.

The Associated Press also confirmed that Ford is planning to build the vehicle at one of its factory in Nanjing but the company has no plan to export the cars to be produced in Nanjing to other countries.
