In the Chinese market, 2008 Camry priced at $23,600 and up

Shanghai. September 3 (Gasgoo.com) – Toyota Motor Company Ltd. (GTMC), a joint vehicle production and sales company between Toyota Motor Corporation and Guangzhou Automotive Industrial Corp, unveiled on August 31 the price of its latest generation Camry at a news conference in Beijing.

The 2008 Camry series will be priced 177,800 yuan ($23,569) to 269,800 ($35,764) yuan in the Chinese market. In this catalogue, two more trim levels, 240V and 200G Navi will be included.

Completely redesigned for 2008, the latest Toyota Camry offers more safety features, such as front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags.

Toyota Camry will continue to dominate the midsize family sedan segment, as consumers prized it for its high build quality, unflagging reliability, comfortable ride and impressive durability, said a GTMC spokesman.

GTMC has increased its annual sales target for Camry to 167,000 units from the original 150,000. Camry has seen sales of 100,000 ending August 31 this year, making another breakthrough in China's mid-high segment auto market.
