Shanghai. September 5 (Gasgoo.com) - Haima Automobile, an automaker based in Hainan province, announced its plan to develop SUV models in its Zhengzhou plant, Chinese media reported today.

Not long ago, Haima announced it would invest 900 mln yuan ($119 mln) in a vehicle manufacturing facility in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province.

Haima has sixteen-year cooperation with Japanese automaker, Mazada, before the relation came to an end in 2006.

Back in 2005, Haima exhibited a SUV model imported from Japan Mazada in an auto show. Media reports said Haim would locally produce this SUV model in China. However, the withdrawal of Japanese automaker had effectively put an end to this plan.

Earlier this year, the debut of Haima 3 has revived the company's plan to develp its own car models. It is reported that Haima's technology center in Shanghai is now developing a SUV model, whichi is widely beleived to be the one exhibited in 2006 auto show.
