China imported 167,700 vehicles, exported 294,100 in Jan-July
Shanghai, September 7, (Gasgoo.com) - China imported 167,700 vehicles in the first seven months this year, an increase of 33.01%t from a year earlier. During the same period, exports of Chinese-made automobiles grew 70.38% to 294,100 units, according to the latest statistics by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
The total value of vehicle imports have reached $5.402 billion, up 29.16% from a year earlier; and total value of vehicle exports have reached $3.342 billion, up 110%..
Among the imported automobiles, the imports of sedans reached 772,000 units, up 32.26%t from one year earlier, and this segment accounts for 46% of the total imports increase; SUVs reached 735,000, an increase of 40.91% from one year earlier and this segment represents 43.8% of the total exports; minivans is the smallest segment of imports, which stands at 10,000 units, with a slight year on year increase of 0.73%.
In comparison, China exported 86,300 units of, sedans in the first seven months, a huge increase of 92 percent, and this segment accounts for 29.3% of the total exports. China exported 122,300 trucks, up 55 percent, and 38,700 buses, up 250%t respectively. Sedans, trucks and buses account for 84.09% of China’s total vehicle exports.
In 2007, China's total auto sales 2007 will reach 8.3 million units, and total imports and exports will reach approximately 220,000 units and 520,000 units, as predicted by State Information Center, a think-tank affiliated to the State Council.
