China's market demand for meridian tires grows to 200 mln by 2010

Shanghai. September 12 (Gasgoo.com) – China's total market demand for tires is forecast to reach 240 million pieces by 2010, including 200 million meridian tires, said China Rubber Industry Association.

By 2010, China's domestic market demand for sedan meridian tires will reach 81 million pieces, and the exports of this type of tires will reach 45 million pieces. Also by 2010, China's domestic market demand for light duty meridian tires will reach 28.3 million pieces and exports of these tires will grow to 17.4 million pieces. Similarly, China's home demand for heavy duty meridian tires is forecast at 32.1 million pieces and exports of these tires will reach 60 million pieces by 2010.

According to experts forecast, by 2010 China will have a total number of 62 million automobiles in use including 31 million sedans.
