By the end of September, China has 120 mln privately-owned motor vehicles in use

Shanghai. October 8(Gasgoo.com) - By the end of September this year, China has a total number of 118,129,662 privately-owned motor vehicles in use, up 7.22% from the end of last year, Chinese state media Xinhua News Agency reported yesterday.

Privately-owned automobiles account for 61.25% of China's total number of automobiles in use, according to the Traffic Administration of Ministry of Public Security, the report said.

The report also said China has 160,601,672 registered drivers of motor vehicles by the end of September, up 6.98% from the end of last year. Among them, 103,444,144 are registered automobile drivers, an increase of 9.06% from the end of the last year.

Drivers aged 26-35 account for 37.88% of total Chinese motor vehicle drivers and drivers aged 36-50 account for 40.67% of the total number, the report said.
