Shanghai. October 8 (Gasgoo.com) - Five Chinese automakers will attend the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next January, Chinese media reported today.

Changfeng Motor Group, BYD Auto Co., Geely International Corp., China America Automotive Inc., and Li Shi Guang Ming Auto Design Co. will show off their products at the Detroit Auto Show next January, China News Agency said.

Organizers of the auto show in Detroit say 2 of the companies, Geely and Changfeng, will be making their second appearances in Detroit auto show.

Geely showed off a sedan in the hallways outside the main exhibit space in 2006, while Changfeng appeared at the show earlier this year, according to an Associated Press report.

Besides Changfeng and Geely, it will be a first time appearance for the other three automakers. This indicates growing interests on Chinese automakers’ part in seeking access to the U.S. auto market.

The 2008 Detroit show starts January 19th and runs for nine days.
