Shanghai. October 12 (Gasgoo.com) Renault has no plan to start massive production project in China before 2009, Koskas, Vice president of Renault in Asia and Afica region, told Chinese media last week.

This is the first time that Renault publicly talked about the company's massive production project since its unsuccessful cooperation attempts with Dongfeng in 2004.

Renault will export a new generation of Laguna to Chinese market next summer, but the company has no timetable to locally produce this model in China, Koskas said.

Renault entered Chinese market in 1993 and started a joint venture company to produce light commercial vehicle called Trafic in Xiaogan, Hebei province. In 1999, Renault delivered first generation of Scenic and Laguna vehicles to Chinese marekt.

In 2005, Renault delivered notachback Megane and second generation of Scenic to Chinese market. In September 2006, Renault delivered convertible Laguna to Chinese market.

Last year, Renault sold 3,000 vehicles in Chinese market and Laguna is Renault's best selling model in this market.
