Dongfeng to sell 1.1 million vehicles this year

Shanghai. October 24 (Gasgoo.com) - In the first nine months this year, Dongfeng has sold 830,000 vehicles and the auto group is expected to sell 1.10 million vehicles by year-end, a senior company said.

"We expect that we can sell 1.1 million vehicles by year-end," said Xu Ping, general manager of Dongfeng  Motor Corporation during Chinese Communist party's 17th Congress.

Another senior official, Xia Shengtao from the commercial vehicles arm of Dongfeng Motor, said Dongfeng has exported 4,458 commercial vehicles in the first nine months, up 203 percent from a year earlier.

Xia said, the export of 4,458 units of commerical vehicles in the first nine months include 2,000 Dongfeng Tianlong, the best selling heavy truck brand produced by Dongfeng Motor. Xia is confident his company is able to produce and sell 20,000 Dongfeng Tianlong vehicles this year.

Heavy truck vehicles, like Dongfeng Tianlong and Dalishen (The first generation) produced by Dongfeng Motor Corporation have been exported to Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan, Vietnam, Russia and Angola.

Automotive industry analysts say Dongfeng's annual capacity will rise to 1.28 million units next year and to 1.63 million vehicles by 2010.
