Shanghai. October 25 (Gasgoo.com) Captiva, Chervolet's best selling compact SUV will hit Chinese market early next month, Shanghai-based newspaper, Oriental Morning Post reported earlier this week.

The imported Captiva will be priced in a range between 240,000 yuan ($31,975) and 280,000 yuan ($37,303), the report said.

The arrival of Captiva will change the landscape of China's compact SUV market, which has long been dominated by Japanese and Korea-made brands, the Oriental Morning Post said.

Industry exports said Shanghai General Motor will consider Captiva's local production if it proves popular in Chinese market.

Captiva made its debut in Geneva Auto Show in March 2006 and it became a popular SUV model in European market in a short time.
