Chery tests methanol-fuelled cars

Shanghai, October 29. (Gasgoo.com) – Chery Automobile Co. Ltd unveiled its prototype methanol fuel-powered cars at their research base in northern China's Shanxi Province last week, an Interfax report said today.
 
The report, citing a Chery employee, said the first batch of 20 cars has been tested and is ready to be put into full-scale production. 
 
The cars to be produced are all M85 methanol flexible-fuel vehicle models, which is powered by a blend of 85% methanol and 15% gasoline and allows quick starts at a temperature as low as minus 20 Celsius degrees.
