Japanese-made Mazda 5 enters Chinese market

Shanghai. October 30 (Gasgoo.com) Chinese car buyers will be able to order Japanese made Mazda 5 at all retail stores of FAW-Mazda Sales Co starting today, the Shanghai-listed FAW CAR Co announced on its website this morning.
 
The Japanese-made Mazda 5 will be priced in a range between 170,000 yuan ($22,700) –200,000 yuan ($267,072) and China will be the first overseas market where Mazda is sold outside Japan, the announcement said.
 
In designing style, Mazda 5 has inherited Zoom-Zoom feature of Mazda vehicles. The vehicle has excellent performance in power, control and safety, the announcement said. In terms of safety, the model has won highest rating in NCAP tests (five stars in European NCAP and six stars in Japanese NCAP).
 
The imported Mazda 5 will fill up the upper and middle MPV segment in Chinese market.
 
Currently, Mazda 3 is made at the Chongqing-based Changan Ford Mazda Auto; Mazda 6 is made at the Changchun-based FAW-Mazda and Mazda 2 will be made at a Nanjing-based plant which is still under construction.
