"Market share of luxury sedan will continue to witness fast growth by 6 % from the current 3-4%." Christoph Stark, CEO of BMW China predicted optimistically. In 2006, sales of passenger vehicles reach 4,258,100 units in China (mini-bus excluded), of which luxury sedans sales went up 4% to 170,000 units. Maintaining a growth rate at 50% for two consecutive years, BMW lists the second place in China's luxury sedan market. Christoph Stark said BMW should respond more actively to the market fluctuations in China and the increasing demand in luxury sedan market creates a good opportunity for BMW.
