Shanghai. November 5 (Gasgoo.com) Chery Automobile has set up 19 dealers in the Philippines since its entry into the market, and the automaker said its sales in Philippines could reach 2,000 by the end of this year, according to a report on the website of Chinese Ministry of Commerce.

"Chery has just introduced six of its models to the Philippines this May,” Zhang Lin, general manager of Chery's international business said. “QQ3 hatchback and Tiggo are each sold at 350,000 piaster ($32,717) and 700,000 piasters ($65,435)."

The Philippines auto market has long been dominated by Japanese automakers, but Chery is confident it will earn the Filipino consumer's trust by delivering quality vehicles with competitive prices to this market.

As to the size of this market, the Philippines has sold 9,500 vehicles in the first three quarters of this year, and it is forecast to sell 38,000 vehicles by the end of this year, the report said.
