FAW-VW defeats Shanghai GM in October sales

Shanghai. November 12 (Gasgoo.com) - FAW-VW Automobile again took back the leading position in October’s passenger vehicle sales in Chinese market with 38,270 vehicles sold, followed by last month's leader Shanghai GM with sales of 36,113 units, according to the information center of China National Association of Passenger Vehicle Manufacturers.

Sales of FAW-VW surged 45.3 percent year on year in October, and January-October sales of the automaker rose 40.3 percent to 383,350 vehicles. Chang'an Ford, a joint venture automaker with Ford Motors, has seen its sales up 90.8 percent year on year to 20,060 vehicles, while its year-to date sales rose 62.3 percent to 170,620 vehicles.

Beijing Hyundai's October sales continued to drop by 14.6 percent year on year to 19,870 units.
