Shanghai. November 13 (Gasgoo.com) German automaker BMW AG opened an automotive parts delivery center in Shanghai last week, Chinese newspaper Beijing Morning News reported today.

This is the second delivery center that BMW established in China after the first one in Beijing. The Shanghai delivery center is located in Minhang District, southwest suburbs of Shanghai. It covers an area of 9,000 square meters with options to expand to 15,000 square meters in the future, BMW said in a statement.

"The Shanghai center will cut short the delivery of auto components to dealers, particularly in central China," said Ma Qingsheng, an official from BMW China. For BMW’s dealers in Shanghai, the delivery center could cut emergency delivery time from 120 hours to 20 hours, the newspaper report said.

The center, which has a capacity to stockpile 15,000 sets of auto parts, will form a delivery network with other two centers in Germany and Malaysia. It is expected that the center could deliver a total amount of 290,000 sets of auto parts annually.
