China produced 930,100 light trucks in Jan-Oct, up 19.75 percent

Shanghai. November 19 (Gasgoo.com) -In the first ten months this year, China produced 930,100 light duty trucks, up 19.75 percent year on year and sold 921,800 vehicles, up 18.78 percent from a year earlier, according to the Information Center of China's National Association of Passengers Vehicle Manufacturers.
 
Sales of light trucks (4.5-6.0 tons segment) went up 58.58 percent to 108,600 units in the first ten months of this year, while sales of 1.8 to 3.5-ton trucks hit 475,400 units, up 19.23 percent from one year earlier. The 1.8-3.5 ton segment represents 51.57 percent of China’s total trucks sales.
 
China's Beiqi Foton Motor Co led the sales by selling 268,600 units during the period, up 14.37 year on year. Foton was followed by Dongfeng Motor Corporation, with sales of 101,000 units or an increase of 17.95 percent; Jianghuai Automobile came up third with 91,000 units sold, up 17.63 percent from a year earlier.
